Berkshire’s Investment Portfolio

Comment: Berkshire holds many securities since it operates a large insurance business.  Buffett favors a concentrated portfolio and manages the lion’s share of Berkshire’s assets. The holdings that have his stamp of approval are likely those with the highest portfolio values, such as Apple, Bank of America, Coca-Cola, and American Express.

Buffett’s Letters to Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders

Comment: Buffett writes a detailed letter to shareholders each year that is “must reading” on Wall Street.  The letters are fun read, often showcasing his sense of humor while commenting on Berkshire’s performance and recent market events.  Shareholder letters dating back to 1977 may be found at the link below.

Buffett Partnership Letters

Comment: Buffett ran an investment partnership, known in the financial media as a “hedge fund” before transitioning to making Berkshire Hathaway as his primary investment vehicle. The letters he wrote to his limited partners may be found at the link below.  They don’t use the same sense of humor that Buffett is known for, but you may find some nuggets of investment wisdom in them.
